Christchurch needed a labyrinth, and I have purchased a portable canvas one.
Before the Christchurch Earthquakes in 2010-2011, St Luke's Church in Manchester Street had a portable labyrinth, which was much appreciated.
When the Church was demolished, bricks were saved, and a "permanent" labyrinth was built on the church grounds, with the help of the Student Volunteer Army.
The White Chair Memorial for people who died in the earthquakes was on the same site.
I restored that labyrinth, and facilitated regular walks for several years, until it was demolished to make way for housing.

Now that the St Luke's labyrinth is no longer available, I have purchased a portable canvas labyrinth, for use in Christchurch.
This is a wonderful seven circuit labyrinth, 24 feet in diameter, and in a Chartres style, painted for me by Lisa Gidrow Moriarty.
It has already been used in churches and community settings, and can also be walked in schools, rest homes, hospitals and businesses.
I am keen to take it to venues and provide a labyrinth experience, or I can bring the labyrinth for people to use for their own programmes.
About me
I am a Labyrinth Facilitator Certified with Veriditas, an Energy Keeper for Veriditas, and a Regional Representative for The Labyrinth Society.
I belong to the Australian Labyrinth Network, and have organised an international seminar for them, taught by Tony Christie of Ireland.
I have arranged local walks for World Labyrinth Day (first Saturday in May) for the last 5 years. We are usually the first walkers in the world.

Finance
Unfortunately, the labyrinth cost much more than I expected, and I have had to take out a loan to pay for it.
A number of people have kindly made donations to the Labyrinth Fund, and I am grateful for that.
Any Koha from events also goes towards the Labyrinth Fund.
If you would like to make a donation, it would be gratefully received.
You can pay it to Westpac 03 0826 0126195 003 (Isbell Medical Practice), and use the code "Labyrinth".
The costs were (in NZD):
| Veriditas (for Labyrinth) (14/12/24) | $5878.45 |
| FedEx (for GST) (9/2/25) | $1379.09 |
| Veriditas (for Freight) (20/2/25) | $2791.20 |
| Total | $10,048.74 |
| Contributions To 17/1/26 | $845 |

But it's all about the Labyrinth
I welcome involvement from others who would like to help arrange and facilitate labyrinth walks here in Christchurch, and I hope it will become a useful offering for our community.
